t’s been a good week for Virginia Tech offensive line coach Matt Moore. Coach Moore celebrated Independence Day early with the commitment of four-star offensive tackle Thomas Wilder.
Two days later, Moore reeled in another offensive lineman for the 2026 recruiting class when Adrian “Ace” Hamilton picked the Hokies.
The 6-foot-2 1/2, 290-pound Hamilton is from Washington, D.C., and plays for St. John’s College High School. Hamilton is the No. 5 player in D.C. for the 2026 class and the 67th-ranked interior lineman in the entire class, per 247Sports. Hamilton is a consensus three-star recruit. He picked the Hokies over his other finalists, Michigan State and Virginia.
Hamilton has always liked Virginia Tech, but his official visit last month sealed the deal, much like Wilder’s. Hamilton developed a close relationship with new Virginia Tech offensive line coach Matt Moore when he was at West Virginia. That relationship, along with Hamilton’s relationship with head coach Brent Pry put the Hokies over the top.
