The teams attending the 2024 Les Schwab Invitational have been announced, and the field of out-of-state teams includes the son of NBA legend Carmelo Anthony.
Long Island Lutheran is set to be one of the top teams at the 2024 tournament. The Crusaders were the No. 4 seed in the 2023-24 Chipotle Nationals boys bracket last season, making it all the way to the national quarterfinals in April.
The team features Kiyan Anthony, the son of NBA legend and former Portland Trail Blazer Carmelo Anthony. Kiyan Anthony is a four-star recruit with offers from Syracuse (where his father attended), Florida State, Ohio State, Rutgers and USC.
According to Prime Time Sports president John McCallum, this will be the first time the son of a former LSI MVP will be playing in the tournament. Playing for Oak Hill Academy, Carmelo Anthony played in the 2001 Les Schwab Invitational.
Also at Long Island Lutheran is four-star recruit Kayden Mingo (offers from Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Penn State and Notre Dame) and four star Florida State commit Alier Maluk.
