Clemson landed another high-profile defensive recruit on Thursday.
Four-star edge Darien Mayo announced his pledge to the Tigers on Twitter Thursday evening, adding to an already impressive 2024 recruiting class for Clemson.
Standing at 6-foot-7 and 250 pounds, Mayo is the No. 22 defensive lineman prospect and the No. 178 overall recruit in the class of 2024, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
The Good Counsel High School (Olney, Maryland) product held over 20 offers, including Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Maryland, Penn State, South Carolina, Michigan, Notre Dame and Virginia.
Mayo is the Tigers’ 12th commit in the team’s 2024 class, which jumped from No. 13 to No. 12 in 247Sports’ recruiting team rankings after his commitment.
