Maryland football got a Saturday commitment during its first big official visit weekend, adding local tight end Brayden Marko to the Terps’ 2026 recruiting class.
“I was already super big on Maryland. I went to multiple spring visits and liked everything they had [to offer]. When I compared to everything I could possibly have, nothing really compared with everything they were offering me,” said Marko, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound tight end from nearby Gonzaga College High School (D.C.). “[Getting the offer] was everything I’ve dreamed of after always watching Maryland on TV.”
The first-team All-WCAC product provides great size and a prototypical frame at tight end with the ability to block and catch passes. Maryland has had a steady stream of talented tight ends come through College Park, but has lacked longevity as of late due to transfers. Their top two tight ends last season, Preston Howard and Dylan Wade, both left via the portal.
