Maryland football bolstered its secondary by landing a pair of commitments Sunday, one in the transfer portal and the other from high school.
The Terps will get a more immediate boost from Jalen Huskey, a cornerback who will transfer from Bowling Green. Huskey, who hails from Frederick, Md., finished his sophomore season with the Falcons by earning All-MAC first-team honors. He started all 12 of the team’s games, recording four interceptions, six pass breakups and 52 tackles.
Three-star class of 2024 safety Shamar McIntosh also announced his pledge to play at Maryland. McIntosh attends St. John’s College High School (Washington, D.C.) and is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 7 prospect from D.C. He was an all-conference first-team honoree in 2023, returning two interceptions and a fumble for touchdowns.
