Pat Narduzzi and the Pitt Panthers landed five commitments during the first round of official visits in the crucial recruiting month of June. Two had already made their decisions knowns and the third revealed his identity this week.
Mason Lindsay, a 6’7 and 290-pound offensive tackle from Hyattsville, Maryland who attends powerhouse DeMatha Catholic High School, announced on Twitter that he was one of those five commits from over the weekend.
While he holds just one three-star rating from Rivals, the junior lineman has picked up plenty of Power 5 offers since last season.
Nearby Maryland was the first Division I school to extend an offer last July and Boston College, West Virginia and Virginia Tech followed on the same day. UConn, Wake Forest and Duke also expressed some interest. Charlotte, Maine and Elon offered as well before Pitt threw their hat in the ring with an offer of their own last month.
