A number of former Maryland players — including Byron Mouton and John Gilchrist — are expected to compete in the second annual Legends Coalition Basketball League this summer.
The league, which exclusively featured players representing their high schools last year, has added college teams from Maryland, George Mason, George Washington and Montgomery College. All players are at least 30 years old. “It’s just a chance to bring back those memories. Guys that people grew up watching,” said the league’s CEO Ricky Goings.
The action tips off Sunday, June 3 at Kelly Miller Middle School in Washington, D.C. The team of Terps is slated to begin play against George Mason in the Urban Coalition Tribute Game at 4:30 p.m. that day. The league runs through August 19th.
Along with Mouton and Gilchrist, Sean Mosley, Jeff Baxter, Travis Garrison, Dave Neal, Andre Collins and Sterling Ledbetter are all expected to represent their alma mater. Lonny Baxter — who played last year with Anacostia High School — is on the league’s Board of Directors.
