According to an announcement by Dunbar (D.C.) head coach Maurice Vaughn, the Crimson Tide football team has been suspended by District Columbia Public Schools (DCPS).
The suspension of Dunbar stems from a bench-clearing brawl that ended last Thursday’s game against Coolidge, per an email that was sent out to parents and families by the DCPS.
The DCPS has suspended Dunbar’s football program through Oct. 5, forcing the Crimson Tide to forfeit last week’s 30-17 win over Coolidge and their upcoming homecoming game against Jackson-Reed on Saturday. Dunbar will fall to 0-6 after Saturday, with four games to go.
