UConn guard Jordan Hawkins no longer has to dream about playing in the Final Four. His brilliant shooting performance Saturday night made the dream a reality.

The Gaithersburg naive led all scorers with 20 points – including six 3-pointers – in the Huskies’ dominant 82-54 win over Gonzaga in the West Region final in Las Vegas. He was named the West Region’s outstanding player

Hawkins starred at Gaithersburg High for two years then transferred to DeMatha where he played his junior and senior seasons. The 20 year-old sophomore is expected to turn pro after this season and is projected to be a first round pick. Some mock drafts have Hawkins as a lottery (top 14) pick.
