Virginia Tech picked up a key commitment from DeMatha Catholic High School, 3-star 2024 defensive tackle Emmett Laws.
Laws announced a top five on April 8 of Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Pitt, Penn State, and Maryland.
Laws is the No. 19 recruit in Maryland, per the On3 Industry Ranking formula:
Laws is the Hokies’ fifth commitment in the 2024 recruiting class, and the first to have the capability to play at defensive tackle, a huge area of need for Virginia Tech.
