The first major piece of the fallball calendar has been set, as the annual Bob Kemp Lacrosse Classic will feature Virginia vs. Georgetown.
The event is set for Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. at Georgetown Prep. It’s a fixture of the fall calendar, often featuring Top 20 teams in a competitive environment for a good cause.
The Bob Kemp Lacrosse Classic celebrates the legacy of Bob Kemp while honoring those with a notable commitment to faith, family, and athletics. Kemp believed in education and family. He passed away in 2014, and his family —heavily involved in lacrosse— developed the event to honor his name with a cause he believed in.
Funds raised benefit the Washington Jesuit Academy. The Washington Jesuit Academy has a vision of creating an education model that addresses the cycle of poverty that plagues students’ communities, and replacing it with cycles of hope, determination, and success is something that Bob very much believed in.
