The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame recently announced the field of teams for the 2022 Hoophall East, an annual basketball showcase formerly known as Slam Dunk to the Beach that will take place at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes Dec. 26-29.

The event is one of three in the Hoophall Regional series, which culminates each year in Springfield, Mass., at Hoophall Classic, a showcase that has featured many of the top prep teams and players for more than 20 years.

“We are excited to return to Lewes during the holiday season and bring talent from local and national programs together at Hoophall East,” said John L. Doleva, president and CEO of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. “This showcase provides a unique opportunity for the local community to experience some of the best high school talent in the country.”

In addition to local participants, the tournament will feature teams from Arizona, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Tickets for the 2022 Hoophall East are on sale at Hoophall.com/events/hoophall-east. Supporters of Hoophall East include presenting sponsor SoDel Concepts, along with Delaware Tourism Office, Grotto Pizza, Beebe Healthcare and Sussex County Council.
