The 2026 high school football season gets underway this weekend, with several teams from the WCAC, IAC and MAC taking the field across the region. Friday night’s schedule is highlighted by Archbishop Spalding at DeMatha, with the Cavaliers visiting the Stags for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Other notable matchups include Gonzaga at Calvert Hall at 7 p.m., while Good Counsel travels to Pennsylvania to face Bishop McDevitt at 7 p.m.
The IAC/MAC slate includes Potomac at Landon at 5 p.m., while Washington-Liberty visits Bishop O’Connell at 4 p.m.
The action continues Saturday with additional WCAC, IAC and MAC teams beginning their 2026 campaigns. For many programs, this weekend marks the beginning of a season that will eventually lead into conference play and the chase for WCAC, IAC and MAC championships.
