Girls high school basketball in the DC area is as good as it gets – PERIOD. If you don’t think so, what other part of the country gets three McDonald’s All-Americans in one year? This is truly a great time to be a DCSportsFan with the current girls high school basketball scene.
This year particularly, Sidwell Friends was ranked as high as No. 2 in the country and McNamara was ranked as high as No. 5 with three other local high schools ranked in the national polls throughout the year.
For almost all the local high schools this is the best time of the year. Playoffs are here and there is no more ‘we get to play them again’ mentality. It’s win or go home. Seniors, especially, will be missed dearly next year as this group is one of the best in the nation.

So as a farewell to the senior class, we’ve put together a D.C. area team could compete for not only a high school national championship – but a collegiate national championship. This is something that cannot be done anywhere else in the country, so here’s to our DCSportsFan.com High School Girls Basketball Section kickoff!
