Bullis School Names New Baseball Coach

The Bullis School has named longtime Avalon baseball coach Patrick Duffy their new head varsity coach. Duffy has spent nearly two decades leading Avalon before making the move to the IAC this spring.

“The past 17 years as Avalon’s head baseball coach have provided me with my most memorable baseball memories, and I will forever cherish my time as a Black Knight,” Duffy wrote to his former school. “I want to thank everyone who was a part of each and every season for their support and friendship.”

“I cannot thank Kevin Davern and Rich McPherson enough for allowing me to start the Avalon baseball program back in 2003, and to continue coaching for all these years. The administrative support I received from Mr. Davern, Mr. McPherson, and Mr. RJ Hawley is out of this world. You simply cannot find that anywhere else.”

Bullis competes in the Interstate Athletic Conference (IAC), which also includes Georgetown Prep, Landon, St. Albans, St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes, and Episcopal.
