Butch Davis to Attend

The Third Annual DCSportsFan.com Football Banquet will feature University of North Carolina football coach Butch Davis, and he will be speaking in front of selections three and four, which include Dunbar running back Vernard Roberts and H.D. Woodson quarterback Ricardo Young (Virginia Tech).

Robers, a 5-foot-9 junior, racked up another 128 yards on the ground this past weekend, which gives him 1,155 yards and 20 touchdowns on the season. Roberts was voted in by the fans after receiving 45 percent of the vote, or 379 of the 842 votes cast. Roberts has rushed for at least 100 yards in seven straight games for Dunbar.

The DCSportsFan selection committee chose H.D. Woodson quarterback Ricardo Young to also represent the DCIAA. Young has led Woodson to a 6-4 record this season and was the MVP of the Turkey Bowl last year. He has verbally committed to play football at Virginia Tech.

Today’s vote moves to the IAC, where the following five players can be voted on: Hunter de Butts (Episcopal), Joe Paoletta (Landon), Rob Sniezek (St. Albans), Alex Edwards (St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes) and Phillip Nwosu (Bullis).
