Field Set for Good Counsel Tip-Off Classic

Good Counsel High School announced Thursday that the 4th annual Good Counsel Tip-Off Classic field has been set. Tournament play will run from Thursday, December 4th through Saturday, December 6th at the school's Kane Center, on the campus of Good Counsel.

This year's field features teams both locally and nationally, including Santa Rita, (Tucson, AZ), National Christian Academy (Fort Washington, MD), The Rock School (Gainesville, FL), Progressive Christian Academy (Camp Springs, MD), Wings Academy (Bronx,NY) St. Mary's (Annapolis, MD), Our Savior New American (Centereach, NY) and Good Counsel (Olney, MD).

Notable players on each team include (along with schools interested):

Santa Rita: Terrell Stoglin (UCLA, Stanford, Arizona); Mark Simmons (NAU, New Mexico St.)

Our Savior New American: Rayner Moquette (VCU, Pitt, Davidson, Princeton); Chris Hampton (St. Johns, Fordham, Marist); Steele Davis (Florida, Kentucky, USC, Georgetown, UNC)

The Tip-Off Classic's goal is to bring together the country's best scholar athletes in a great showcase of both team and individual talent. In the words of Coach Jim Larrinaga of George Mason University, the classic is "one-stop shopping," for the nation's best basketball talent.
