The Georgetown Visitation Cubs and the National Cathedral Eagles put on a quite show Sunday afternoon at St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes for the ISL AA title game. Though the game started lopsided in favor of the Cubs, the game quickly balanced out and the excitement rose. But, after yet another exciting title game Sunday, Visitation came out on top, 3-2, to win their second consecutive championship.
Just over a week ago, NCS hosted Visitation in a league match up. In a close game, NCS prevailed 4-3. But as the teams took the field Sunday, none of that mattered.
However, it looked as though the Cubs were ready to avenge their recent loss. Just 20 seconds into the game, senior midfielder Megan O’Conor dribbled the ball down the field near the end line and simply put the ball near the goal. The ball tipped of the keeper’s fingertips and landed in the back of the net.
