This was supposed to be the rubber match after two thrilling regular season encounters. But instead, DeMatha made the WCAC Championship anti-climatic by routing Gonzaga 71-52 to claim back-to-back WCAC titles.

“Today we knew that we were going to come out strong because everybody was focused,” Victor Oladipo said. “The thing we emphasized on maintaining the lead and we made sure that they didn’t get any runs. …This was the championship. We came to play, there was no tiredness, everybody wanted to play and everybody contributed that’s why we came out on top.”

DeMatha’s three keys to success- scoring by Quinn Cook, explosive plays by Oladipo and blocks by Mikael Hopkins- all aligned and overwhelmed the Eagles.
